It's a new year and what better time to celebrate the return of Elder Dragon, Lao-Shan Lung! It was recently announced that this classic monster will be making a return in Monster Hunter XX! I'm interested to see how they change that fight with all of the new game mechanics. I remember first encountering Lao in MH:FU. It was a slow fight to do damage against it before squaring off in front of the main fort. I think some incorporation of environment and jumping mechanics could change up this fight. They could even alter Lao's move set so it's more of an aggressive fight like Gogmazios in 4U.

For Lao-Shan Lung's emblem, I wanted to make sure to capture the sharp plated armor covering its body. In-game, this dragon is very rocky with the majority of its bulk protecting its back and limbs. A simple use of array commands got the shape in place. After that it was just a matter of adding in the rest of the details like the arms, legs, and body. I went with a mostly red and lighter gray palette accented with black for its horns and claws. I will probably do a remixed version of this emblem for Lao's subspecies. The Ashen variant had a pretty neat color scheme too.
